("THESE PROGRAM DESIGNS AND THE CENTER IN WHICH THESE PROGRAMS WILL BE HOUSED IS DEDICATED TO THE SPIRIT OF THE LATE SCHOOL CHANCELLOR DR. RICHARD GREEN AND HIS DEDICATION TO CHILDREN'S EDUCATION, AND TO ALL ASPIRING, STRUGGLING COMMUNITIES")
----JOSE A. LOPEZ FOUNDER OF H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A.
WHAT IS H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A.?
H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. is a project based in Bronx New York founded by Jose A. Lopez & Starworks Productions Inc. AKA Starworks Entertainment Group International. Its purpose is to house programs that help the community and especially the youth world wide.
The H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. project is a subsidiary of People Uplifting People In Life Inc., a non profit charity organization based in Atlanta Georgia.
The H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. center's core concept is to develop and create a top quality, state of the art environment that will be a cross-fertilization of highly qualified teachers in alliance with a roster of successful companies in the media, entertainment, health, community development, youth development, computer technology, Business fields, etc as well as other key strategic alliances to cater to youth and the community needs so that they both thrive and become successful in life .
· Project: H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. is a facility designed so that young people and young adults can have a fighting chance against the negative elements that can entice them into being destructive statistics while at the same time give a base for the community at large to thrive.
· Project H.O.M.E/.C.A.S.A. is a facility designed to also close the gaps between private industries and charities so that together they can serve and “Give Back” to the grassroots community. In particular, to help youth and young adults to lead productive and positive lives through using music, art and other disciplines and programs.
· Project H.O.M.E/.C.A.S.A. is a manifestation of all the good that the world has to offer in one state of the art multiservice complex called H.O.M.E/.C.A.S.A (“House Of Mental Edification”-“Center for Culture, Art & Social Awareness) or as it is affectionately called “Boogie Boulevard” or “11-22 Boogie Woogie Avenue”
· To give back to the community through programs that will provide tools and vehicles for the community to thrive, on many levels such as educationally, socially, financially, etc.
· To give youth a deterrent and alternatives to negative elements of the streets though music and the arts.
· To give young performing and non-performing artists in the community the opportunity to be recognized for their talents and to put them to good use.
This type of program and its design is a great vehicle to those who are willing to invest in providing real choices for those youth and adults to lead productive lives and helping the community. Also it will greatly and positively impact the social, political, ethnic and other issues facing our society and the globe.
MEETING 1985 AT THE RESIDENCE OF
JOSE LOPEZ. EXCERPTS OF MR. LOPEZ'S ADDRESS TO THE FOUNDING MEMBERS OF H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. AND TO INVITED GUEST EDUCATORS:
"We believe that young people will be less likely to get into the troubles that the streets entices them with, if they are given a lot more choices of what to do with their lives" "Therefore, members of the H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. project will create an atmosphere of a safe haven for young people and young adults, that speaks their language and adheres to the total needs of a growing mind, but will not neglect to expose young people to the realistic perspectives of chance and risks involved in the different types of situations".
“......Paint a picture in your mind of a center, that is filled with state of the art equipment, and a professional and caring staff especially designed to nurturing a young person's imagination”.
“......Paint a picture in your mind of a center, which captures the excitement of young people's cultures. The colors, The sounds, The music, The language”.
“......Paint a picture in your mind of a center, where young people and young adults from all over the world, could learn from one another about subjects and issues that interest them the most”.
“......Paint a picture in your mind of a center, where young people can come away with not just an experience that will last them a lifetime, but marketable skills and a finished portfolio, that they will use well into there adult years”.
"With your help we will build a mini college/Lincoln Center, type center etc.. (paint a picture in your mind if you would) that would not be your average hum-drum academic traditional learning institution, but an interactive and fun place to learn, and a fun place to be. This place is called H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. (The House of Mental Edification- Center for Culture, Art & Social Awareness) or as it is affectionately called "Boogie Boulevard"
"We all want a better world, and the future will bring it" "Believe it or not, today's and tomorrow's youth is that future" "So let's start with them, and maybe tomorrow will be a better day"..

P.R.E.A.C.H. THEATER
Prevention, Rehabilitation, Enrichment, (Through) Arts, Culture, and Health
P.R.E.A.C.H. THEATER is an innovative, energetic, highly charged, creative, interactive, fun and holistic approach to uplifting, cultivating, training, and enriching the lives of youth who are considered to be “High Risk” by society and the legal system. “High Risk” youth as defined by the legal system are youth that are without the proper moral, ethical, or legal boundaries brought about by the lack of proper education and/or family upbringing that would make them a productive members of society.
P.R.E.A.C.H. THEATER recognizes that these youth are not “high risk” but rather youth who have been left incomplete. As a result of this (incompleteness) they become desperate feeling they have no choices, self esteem becomes low or non existent and they begin to choose potentially self destructive lifestyles that the streets entice them with.
![]()
PREACH THEATER is an approach to groom youth and provide them with real tools and skills that not only they can use in the real world to become productive members of society. These skills are taught in their own language, music and culture to bring about a better learning retention so they can continue to be come whole, “No Risk” youth or as PREACH would like to refer as being a “W.I.S.E.” kid. “W.I.S.E.” are the call letters standing for Whole, Inspired, Skilled & Educated. A W.I.S.E. kid is one who has a full understanding of his/her potentials, skills and natural God given talents and gifts. One who is flexible understanding the power that is in these talents, knows how to develop and master them so the may achieve their highest goals and become all that they can be.
PREACH THEATER is the combined application whereby theatrically, youth are exposed, immersed, educated and made complete through many artistic, physical and spiritual disciplines through a series of theatrical and creative classes and workshops that include Modern Technology, Traditional techniques & disciplines, Law, All Medicine, Martial Arts, Biology, Production, Dance, Acting, Music, Comedy, Drama and other arts etc. Including Music Technology/M.I.D.I. TALES FROM THE TALKING DRUM ©TM
COPYRIGHT BY JOSE A. LOPEZ, P.U.P.I.L INC. AND JAL ENTERPRISES INC.
TALES FROM THE TALKING DRUM IS A RETURN OF HOW THE ORIGINAL INHABITANTS AND CARETAKERS OF THIS PLANET EARTH AND UNIVERSE TAUGHT HISTORY AND DEEDS OF ITS ANCESTORS.
IT IS A RETURN TO TEACHING HOW TO LIVE, HOW TO PARENT, HOW TO FEED ONESELF, HOW TO TAKE CARE AND RESPECT THE LAND AND TO PASS ON KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.
EVERY VILLAGE OR TOWN OR CITY ON PLANET EARTH HAD A DRUM OR AN INSTRUMENT THAT WAS USED BY THE ELDERS TO SHARE INFORMATION…
FOR THE ANCIENT AFRICANS IT WAS THE JEMBE. FOR THE NATIVE AMERICANS IT WAS THE POWOW OR AREITO CEREMONIES WHERE THEY USED LARGE ROUND CEREMONIAL DRUMS OR GONG LIKE DRUMS MADE OF HOLLOW LOGS CALLED MAYUACAN. FOR THE BRAZILIANS IT WAS THE BERIMBAU….
BUT WHAT EVER INSTRUMENT WAS USED, STORIES OF DEEDS GREAT AND SMALL WE SUNG, DANCED AND PLAYED…..
IN THIS CASE WE ARE GOING BACK TO THIS WAY OF TEACHING RATHER THAN THE MODERN DAY STYLE OF TEACHING WHICH TENDS TO MONATOUNOUS AND FULL OF WORDS AND DOGMA THAT NO ONE REMEMBERS OR SOMETIMES EVEN CARE ABOUT…..
THIS RETURN TO ROOTS STYLE TEACHING IS FUN, INTERACTIVE AND MEMORABLE AND IS THE PERFECT VEHICLE WHERE CHILDREN AND TEENS CAN BETTER LEARN AND REMEMBER WHAT THEY’VE LEARNED AND SUPPLIES A VERY GOOD VEHICLE WHERE THEY CAN MAKE A SPECIAL BOND WITH THEIR TEACHERS AND IT ALSO IS A VERY GOOD TOOL WHERE YOUTH CAN TAKE WHAT THEY’VE LEARNED AND PASS IT ON TO OTHERS…
