HISTORY:
Starworks Productions Inc. aka Starworks
Entertainment Group was established in
1984 by
two young actors/musicians--named "Tony"
Jose Antonio Lopez Keyonn Antonio Sheppard
and a collection of youth, young performing artists and adults from disadvantaged neighborhoods, who out of a need to be recognized for their creativity, and having a lack of opportunities, decided to create their own opportunities for themselves and for all young artists, youth and all community people by pooling what little resources they had, and in a valiant cooperative teaching each other and sharing different skills and talents they had learned. Through this sharing they felt that they sharpened their own skills and had discovered new talents they didn't realize they had. These youth had decided to do this on a grand scale collaborating, teaching and sharing new and old ideas in all types of subjects. In a matter of six weeks, they had over 30 youths meeting together on a regular basis to practice and learn different aspects of the performing arts and other from one another and these meetings expanded to include all types of skills in various fields and disciplines such as how to prepare for job interview to learning computers. This group later became familiar to the public as "Starworks" (defining the dedication of people working hard together to make positive things happen and the levels of excellence they wanted to achieve). The young people afterwards wanted to publicly display their newly acquired skills to the public, by entering showcases and later creating their own competition and showcase known as "StarBound" and taped these shows and aired them on local public access television programs. In this showcase they sharpened their skills against other youth and adults whom they would invite from all over the city and the competition categories included music, art, fashion, writing, dance, etc. “StarBound” was created to be the first vehicle of StarWorks to not only showcase talent, but to advocate the message to the world, government and city agencies of the urgency of the lack of opportunities that inner city kids and adults from disadvantage areas have to progress in general and how we must desperately work together to make a change. "StarBound" moved on to show that young people and adults need not suffer and how "Starworks" & “StarBound” would help to provide an ongoing vehicle of opportunities in order to make entire communities thrive on many levels whether those involved are in the performing arts or not.. As time continued, this group continued to grow, and Starworks finally became a legal entity in 1991, as Starworks Productions, Incorporated, under New York State Law, with Jose A. Lopez being the founder, president, and sole proprietor of the organization. In 1999, a three-way merger / partnership emerged between Starworks and two other existing “sister” companies, and many experts then also became involved. One of these other companies being, People Uplifting People In Life Inc, which dealt with, music production and workshops, community and youth development.

Grant Love
Grant Love Chairman of People Uplifting People In Life Inc. joined to further round out the Starworks entity. It provided youth and adults who wish to get off the streets with many different types of training ranging from computers to martial arts. The Starworks organization still continues to do its work with many adult volunteers coming in and sharing their experiences with the many students of Starworks, and are presently holding conferences to continue this work in many communities. The Starworks organization now handles the careers of many of the artists whom they have trained, and has created departments of the organization such as Starworks Management and Productions, Inc., etc. All of this is geared toward not just the cultivation of young people to be great artists, but also for those young people interested in other careers besides show business. Presently, Starworks plans to put all of these activities whether they are directly involved in entertainment or not, into one complex, called "PROJECT H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A." (House of Mental Edification/Cultural, Arts, & Social Awareness) This multi-faceted building would be dedicated to serving disadvantaged youth and adults who aspire to be recording artists and performing artists, and who wish to get off the streets and into working on attaining their dreams.
Currently the "StarBound"
Showcase, Project H.O.M.E./C.A.S.A. and the whole Starworks entity are
collaborating with many organizations to continue work hard serving the
community, it's youth, it's adults.....
AND SO THE STARWORKS SAGA CONTINUES ON
and as the song says:
